Tellurian Sommet shiraz
Crafted from a unique 0.6ha block perched atop the Mount Camel ridge line, the 2021 Sommet Shiraz embodies the pinnacle of Tellurian’s winemaking. This close-planted vineyard benefits from a cooler micro-climate, often ripening 2-3 weeks later than other parcels, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth and elegance. Intense and prolonged dark fruit flavours complement a distinctive minerality reminiscent of wet slate. The cooler conditions of the site impart a vibrant acidity, adding freshness and structure to the palate. Fermented with 10% whole bunches and matured for 8 months in seasoned 600L demi-muids and barriques, this Shiraz showcases both power and finesse. Awarded 95 points by Winepilot, it’s a testament to Heathcote’s esteemed terroir.
