Shiraz fruit sourced from 3 outstanding blocks planted by John Hugo in 1972, 1988 & 1969. With the fruit from Hugo’s Old Vine Block planted in 1969 being handpicked and portions are often used to produce the Hugo Reserve
Winemaking
Fermented on skins for 6 days with gentle pump-overs twice per day.
Malo lactic fermentation and maturation in 100% French oak hogsheads
15% new Oak & remaining 80% 1-5 year old barrels for 18 months
Tasting notes
Vibrant plum, violets & blueberry with soft yet generous mouthfeel which will
continue to develop. Winter warming spices and fine soft tannins
Medium bodied shiraz with balance and poise. Cellar 7-10 years
