Description

Head shiraz

“High perfume, blueberry coulis, blackberry, spice and sage, ironstone. Medium-bodied, succulent,
intense fruit of perfume and weight, dark chocolate tannin, savoury elements, very long fresh finish.
Super vintage. Puppy-like in enthusiasm as at now. Almost 94 points, though that’s kind of arbitrary.”

Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, 94

Fruit is sourced from up to 10 Barossa vineyards predominantly coming from the higher altitude, cooler sites of Eden Valley. The wine allows a preview, or snapshot, of the vintage quality to come. The wine always receives 12 months barrel maturation in a French oaks of differing sizes (228L, 300L, 500L, 600L, 2250L), allowing the vintage and Barossa character to show clearly.
