Guerrieri Rizzardi Valpolicella Classico
XV11 DOC.
At the heart of the Valpolicella Classico is the Corvina and Corvinone grapes which lend a distinct black pepper and dark cherry character to the wine which is medium bodied, structured but smooth and with a complex savoury finish. Serve with meat sauce pasta; roast meat; veal with tuna sauce; spinaches soufflé; salami and cold pork meat.
In many ways this tastes and feel more akin to a ‘superiore’; even though there is no oak used, there is depth and structure with clearly defined, very pure, dark fruit. This a Valpolicella that can be drunk young but also delivers pleasure over several years.
