COLOUR: Bright, medium dark red
BOUQUET: Fragrant and appealing notes of rose petals and aged leather from the Mataro contrast and complement the more recognisable dark berry fruits and gentle spice of the Shiraz.
PALATE: There’s a lot to love in this deceptively mid strength red; the use of Mataro over the more familiar Shiraz lends floral, earthy and savoury complexity to a base line of delicious dark forest berries and subtle spice. The primary fruit is allowed to shine while moderate tannin structure and gentle natural acidity make for an appealing wine in youth with the potential to develop in the medium term.
